Biography
Master Sanjiv is a leading figure in Yoga Therapy in Thailand and Co-Founder of Divine Yoga Thailand. With over 20 years of teaching experience, he specializes in the management, prevention, cure, and rehabilitation of physical, mental, and emotional disorders. He is also a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapy.
Master Sanjiv earned his Master’s Degree in Applied Yogic Science from Bihar Yoga Bharati, the first yoga university in India. His studies integrated modern medicine with the principles and applications of yogic science, enabling him to provide accurate assessments and utilize non-invasive yogic healing methods. His Master of Science dissertation explored the effects of Neti and Kunjal in managing Bronchial Asthma.
He has conducted in-depth studies on the benefits of yoga for various conditions, including sports training, neck and back pain, breast cancer, digestive issues, and vision.
Following his formal education, Master Sanjiv gained three years of practical experience as a yoga expert at his university and the Satyananda Yoga Center in Indore, completing over 17,500 hours of practice and teaching over 500,000 students, including pilots and athletes.
For more than 16 years, Master Sanjiv has been working in Thailand, collaborating with universities, schools, and hospitals to offer accessible, scientific, and systematic yoga classes for diverse needs. He conducts lectures and workshops for institutions such as the Indian Cultural Center, UNESCO, Thammasat University, the Asian Institute of Technology, and the Indian-Thai Coast Guard. He has led the last nine International Day of Yoga events organized by the Indian Embassy in Thailand, one of the largest yoga events outside India. He also provides charitable yoga instruction to promote healthy lifestyles within the community.
Master Sanjiv has developed yogic practices for a wide range of ailments, from high blood pressure and migraines to thyroid problems. He has designed yoga courses for stress management, personality development, and over 50 specialized classes on various health topics. His classes incorporate physical postures, breathing techniques, relaxation, and specific meditation practices based on the teachings of Satyananda Yoga, tailored to meet the individual needs of his students. His areas of expertise include pre- and postnatal care, blood pressure management, migraines, neck/back/knee pain, stress/insomnia/office syndrome, digestive issues/obesity, thyroid problems, menstrual/menopause management, heart and respiratory problems, corporate stress management, skill and personality development for children, and rehabilitation for injuries, cancer, AIDS, and neurological disorders such as Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, epilepsy, and stroke.
Master Sanjiv has helped countless individuals of all ages recover from injuries, illnesses, post-surgical procedures, difficult pregnancies, and depression through yoga. Many seek his expertise after exhausting other medical options or as an alternative to surgery. He takes an analytical approach to assessment and may initially recommend private lessons to address specific needs. Often, students progress quickly and are able to join group classes. Master Sanjiv is passionate about teaching and empowering his students.
Under Master Sanjiv’s leadership, Divine Yoga has been certified as a Yoga Training Center by the Yoga Certification Board, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, the only center in Asia outside India to receive this accreditation.
